Planning

Like most things in life, the more you put into your Crowdfunder project the more you will get out of it. Preparation is key and making a plan is very important. Do your research. Creating

Telling your story is a vital part of your project,
so creating your Crowdfunder page will demand your attention. It's your connection to your supporters and the platform to explain exactly what your idea is and how you see it working.
You need to engage, excite and inform people to get them right behind you. But you don't need to be a great writer, photographer or filmmaker – you just need to be you, and that's why people will pledge.

Running

You've got your great idea, a clear plan and an exciting Crowdfunder page – now you need to shout about it all. There are so many ways to connect with your supporters and create a buzz. Nothing beats talking directly to people but email and social media are also very effective ways of spreading the word about your idea. Building momentum is critical, so start with the people you know best before encouraging the people you don't know to support you.

Is it right for what I'm doing?

We need a lot of money to do something in our community

I want to get an idea off the ground but I don't have any funds

Ideas come in all shapes and sizes. You've done the hard bit by coming up with yours but now you need to make it happen - and that's where crowdfunding with rewards comes in. It will give you the opportunity to test your idea, grow a new audience and say a huge thank you to the people that support you with money of their own, helping you to hit your funding target.

Community shares are a way to raise a lot of money to own something that matters in your community. They’re usually about more than just profit and work best for people who want to get involved and support a cause or a project they really care about. It will generally have a positive social impact for the community it serves such as a pub, local shop or housing project.

For projects that matter, Crowdfunder is the best place to get funded. What we mean by this is the projects that benefit the wider community or environment rather than an individual.

If you have a good idea that you know people will get behind, then we think Crowdfunder might be a great match for you. You need to set a realistic target and have a Crowd of people to connect with to get the ball rolling.

Crowdfunder is available to use for anyone with an idea that matters. You can be a social enterprise, business, charity, community group or individual - everyone’s welcome!

Whilst there is no limit to the amount you can raise, we recommend crowdfunding for a realistic target that will enable you to make your idea happen. The amount you can raise will also come down to how big your current Crowd is and how popular your idea is with new supporters.

There is a 5% fee for using the Crowdfunder platform along with a 3% transaction fee. This allows us to continue helping as many projects as possible.
